New Cinema 4D Tools Tutorial!

Cinema 4D is full of usefull tools that are quite often overlooked, the Virtual Walkthrough tool is one of them. In this tutorial we take a look at the Virtual Walkthrough tool and its functions, this tool allows us to navigate our scene in several different modes, one of which is the first person mode which gives us the ability to navigate our scenes much like a first person video game. There is also the flythrough mode which allows us to navigate our scenes by flying around. On top of these different modes we have the ability to record our movement so that the camera has keyframes. Check out the video below for a comprehensive guide on the tool.

New Select And Go Plugin!

Although Cinema 4D is a fantastic piece of software, there are areas in which it is lacking, one of these areas is the ability to export selected objects as another file format. Natively, you would have to copy the items you would like to export to a new C4D document and then export from there. This is a rather cumbersome way of doing things as it can waste a lot of time, especially if you are exporting object to a game engine because this may require lots of different exports and maybe several times as you iterate and add to your models. This is no longer necessary thanks to the guys at fieldcreatorsstudios.com, they have made a brilliant C4D plugin called FCS tools box, and within this plugin there is a tool called Select N’ Go. This tool allows us to export selected objects in any file format that Cinema 4D supports. Check out the video on this page for a comprehensive guide to the Select N’ Go section of this plugin.

New Aerodynamics Tutorial In Cinema 4D!

Cinema 4D is great for creating dynamic simulations by using the dynamic body tag on objects, these tags can be used to create a rigid body, or soft body simulation. The dynamic tag also gives us the option to enable aerodynamics for rigid or soft bodies. we can generate lift and drag when our object moves through our scene, cinema 4d does this by simulating an atmosphere. In the tutorial below we take a look at the aerodynamics settings in the dynamics tags, and then use then to make a flying aeroplane.

Cinema 4D Quick Tip 12 Is Up!

Have you ever had a situation where the viewport in Cinema 4D doesn’t seem to be working correctly? Is the viewport orbiting not working as expected? The reason this may be happening is because you might have accidentally set a manual pivot for the viewport or camera. to find out how we can rectify this problem please watch the Quick Tip Video below.

New Cinema 4D Thin Film Shader Tutorial!

In Cinema 4D R18 Maxon have made the addition of the thin film shader. This shader allows us to simulate thin films on a materials surface, this adds an extra dimension of realism to materials like oil and lenses. In the tutorial video below we take a look at each setting within the shader and how they lead to a result for thin film reflections.

New Flock Modifier Tutorial!

In this tutorial video we take a look at a great little plugin called Flock Modifier, this plugin allows us to create flocking behaviour for emitter objects, it also allows us to control the level of turbulence within the flock, areas that the flock will be attracted to, areas that will repel the flock and it will even let us determine geometry that the flock will collide with. Watch the tutorial video below for an in depth look at this plugins settings and functions.

New C4D Object Tracker Tutorial!

In this tutorial we take a look at the new object tracker in Cinema 4D R18, This new feature allows us to track a moving object independently of the scene and replace it with a 3D object.
